The Beginning
The old shed at School Road Geeveston is nearly a hundred years old. It was originally a bus depot, then spent 30+ years as a heavy machinery engineers workshop. Consequently, it had a very oily interior, a rusty roof with holes, no eaves or guttering, and, as a result, the birds used to make it their own private nesting site in spring. After a new roof, an updated office and a clean out, its ready for all sorts of interesting projects.
Important Features
The walls are made of heavy hand laid blockwork, the whole shed is held up by a solid steel skeleton. The trusses are 5mm steel, supported on 90 mm steel posts. It also incorporates a 2 tonne movable overhead hoist. Just the ticket for turning large yachts. Also, it has 3 phase power installed, with some very useful engineering machinery.
